Celebrating Baby "G" with a Dreamy Maternity Session!
We prayed for this baby. We prayed for a positive pregnancy test as my cousin and her husband underwent fertility treatment. We prayed for this baby to "stick" once we heard the news the test was positive! And this last week, we were on our knees praying as preterm labor threatened this baby being born early. So to get to do this maternity photoshoot was nothing less than a gift from God.
A week ago, we were planning for maternity photoshoot with the blooming trees in May. We loved the idea of flowers and soft pretty Spring colors. Fast forward to a few days ago, the doctors were able to stop contractions for now and she was sent home on bedrest! Hallelujah! Knowing that we aren't guaranteed time at this point, I reached out to see if she would want to do her maternity photoshoot at her home. She was so excited about this photoshoot and I really wanted to help make all her dreams come true! But we were really limited in our options for a beautiful maternity session. Not to mention, outside during the month of April is not a pretty sight in Minnesota. The snow is melting leaving behind soggy, muddy grass decorated with doggy poo land minds as far as the eye could see. So what could I do? How could I make this dreamy, floral vision come to life in her living room? How could we do a full session when she shouldn't be standing for more than a few minutes at a time?
I had an idea. I wanted a dreamy garden, fairytale vibe with hanging flower vines. And I did it! I'm so happy with how these turned out. Yes, these were in their living room and yes, we took lots of sitting breaks! This won't be something I will be able to recreate just anytime as I filled up my entire minivan with props and spent 1 1/2 hours setting it all up. But it was worth it. This momma was so excited to get the maternity photoshoot of her dreams. And I was so excited to make this dream a reality!
Now we continue to pray for more time for this baby to grow and praise God for gift making it to 3rd trimester (today)! Happy 28 weeks Baby "G!" Keep growing and we will be excited to meet you (just not yet)!
