Forsythe Family Photography Session | Bunker Hills, Andover, MN

There is something incredibly special about photographing families with one-year-olds. This stage of life is full of curiosity, giggles, cuddles, and so many little moments that pass by far too quickly. While it may not always look like everyone smiling perfectly at the camera, those authentic interactions are what make family photos truly priceless.

The Forsythe family met me at Bunker Hills in Andover, Minnesota, for an evening filled with exploring, playing, and plenty of snuggles. Their little guy was full of personality as he wandered through the park, taking in everything around him. We let him lead the session, giving him space to play while capturing the genuine smiles and laughter that unfolded naturally.

Some of my favorite images from the session weren't the posed portraits—they were the moments when he wrapped his arms around Mom and Dad, reached for a hug, or simply enjoyed being close to the people he loves most. Those quiet connections are the memories that families will treasure for years to come.

Family sessions with young children are about embracing the season you're in. There may be a little running, a few snack breaks, and lots of movement, but that's exactly what makes the photos meaningful. They tell the story of your family just as you are today.

If you've been thinking about updating your family photos, don't wait for the "perfect" time. Your children are growing and changing every day, and these moments are worth preserving. The laughter, the snuggles, and even the little adventures become some of the most cherished memories.

I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to spend the evening with the Forsythe family at Bunker Hills and capture this beautiful season of their lives.
